Welcome
All of us experience an inner mental life, which can either interfere with our ability to perform a given task, or it can serve to enhance our performance. In general, we need to be able to concentrate, pay attention, and find a balanced relaxation in order function well. When we experience the negative impact of a particular illness, the psychological stressors of depression or anxiety, relationship or work related difficulties, we need to find solutions, a path to self-compassion, and a strategy for managing with the accompanying fear, worry, sadness, or anger. As a licensed psychologist, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential. While we can’t change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve the challenges you face today.
My experience is broad and deep. I earned a Doctorate of Psychology at the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology 30 years ago. I have had long affiliations with outstanding hospitals such as Mount Auburn Hospital and the Massachusetts Eye and Ear, and as a Clinical instructor in Psychology for the Harvard Medical School.
I have expertise in helping to manage chronic medical conditions such as Lyme disease, cancer, heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, asthma and tinnitus. I also have a special interest in helping with the loss of a pet. And, if you are simply interested in learning mindfulness meditation, I offer that pro bono.
I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.
